Cinch Junior High Division Rodeo

Although this code should be considered common sense and good judgement, it's easy to lose sight when wanting your child to come out a winner.

Remember, this is a FUN
sport!! Be a good role model for your kids!

A Parents Rodeo Code

  • I will remember that my child rides for his or her enjoyment, not mine.

  • I will teach my child that doing ones best is more important than winning, so my child will never feel defeated by the outcome of an event.

  • I will never ridicule or yell at my child for making a mistake or losing a competition.

  • I will provide positive comment that will motivate and encourage continued effort.

  • I will make my child feel like a winner every time by offering praise for competing fairly and trying hard.

  • I will remember that children and young adults learn best by example.  I will applaud good rides/performances by both my child and his/her opponents.

  • Without opponents there would be no competition.

  • I will respect the official’s decisions or judgments and will encourage participants to do the same.

  • I will respect the volunteers working in and out of the arena, who give of their time to provide the sport of rodeo for my child and show appreciation for their efforts.

  • I will not use bad language, nor will I harass or abuse, verbally or physically, competitors, officials or spectators.

  • I will not have unrealistic expectations.

  • I will not lose sight of what is really important to my child’s growth, development, and preparation for life.
