Manitoba Horse awards Info for 2011 – 2012 Season

These applications are all to be sent to Terry Jackson

Application deadline – May 1, 2012

Awards available:

1. Manitoba Quarter Horse of the Year – one award for the Junior High Division and one award for the High School Division -  $100.00 scholarship each

• the horse must be a registered Quarter horse and a copy of the papers must accompany the application.
• the MHSRA member need NOT be a member of the AQHA association.
• the winner is determined by the TOTAL number of points the rider earns in all events at finals while mounted on the horse entered.  Bonus points are NOT included.

 2. Manitoba Paint Horse of the Year – one award for the whole association – blanket

• the horse must be a registered Paint horse or have the visible markings of a paint horse.  If the horse is registered, a copy of the papers must accompany the application.
• the MHSRA member need NOT be a member of the APHA association.
• The winner is determined by the TOTAL number of points the rider earns in all events at finals while mounted on the horse entered.  Bonus points are NOT included.

 3. Grade Horse Award – one award given to a grade twelve student riding a grade horse.  This award is given to a grade 12 student who has not won any other major awards.  The prize is to be determined by the awards committee.

There will be NO NAERIC awards this year.  The NAERIC Association has withdrawn their financial support for these awards this year.

Remember to send in your nominations for the AQHA Horse of the Year to the National   Office. 

•  The applications are on the MHSRA website under Other Application Forms at the very bottom.  The heading is HS & JH Horse of the Year Nomination Forms.  You MUST be a member of the AQHA Association in order to enter your horse for this award.  Nominations must be at the NHSRA office by March 1, 2012.  They do accept fax copies.
